WINTER ESSENTIALS

You might be lucky and live in a place where is summer all year long, but I live in New York and winter sucks, I'm not happy with it at all. The cold, the ice, the snow and the constantly slippery sidewalks really aggravate me, I'm such a summer person. But hey what can I do, either move to some exotic island or cover myself from head to toes! The second one is more likely to happen so here are a few must have items to survive this weather and look good even if you're wearing 5 layers of clothing and can hardly move......

THE TURTLENECK SWEATER: I love turtlenecks, they keep me so warm and make my neck look even longer than it is and it goes with my long and slim face. I prefer the tight neck but some wide necks work too sometimes.

OVERSIZE COAT: This one is great because it allows you to wear several layers underneath and even if u look a little bigger (the effect of the "oversize"),  it actually looks like underneath you are a bit smaller than the coat :)

BEANIE: The head must be warm! I personally get headaches with the cold especially if I go from freezing outdoors to steamy hot indoors. But wearing a hat or beanie helps a lot especially if it covers my ears. And a beanie is great if you have a bad hair day! I seem to be having one of those every other day

THE SCARF is very much needed, especially if you decide not to wear a hat, in case it gets really cold you can wear it over your head and most importantly it covers your neck, duh! A scarf with a pattern or a bright color catches the eye and it breaks the look if you're wearing a solid color like all black (I tend to wear a lot of black)

GLOVES? Of course! How can you do anything with your hands if they're cold? well I can't so for me gloves are definitely a must. You can go wild with them, get them long till the elbow, "fingerless or the transformers. But I prefer the ones that allow your to use touchscreen even if you have them on so you can use your cell phone without removing them, how convenient! And if they go a little past the wrist even better since I have long arms and some of my coats sleeves are not long enough.
